The IPL removal system works by inhibiting hair growth. Light and comfortable to hold and like a cordless epilator in design, the IPL system certainly has all the aesthetic qualities you’d expect of a top notch salon system. The easy to use device means it is perfect for at-home use or for travelling.
The IPL is fairly quick to use (it takes roughly ten minutes to treat both of your legs, for example). A whole body treatment can be used without having to recharge.
The bonus of the IPL is that there are 5 different intensity settings, as well as an attachment for your face. Even if you do not want to use it on facial hair, this enables you to shed top layer cells and should brighten your complexion.
The process is simple: you choose your setting and glide the device along the area you are treating (this area should be shaved beforehand). Light flashes automatically and this signals a single treatment patch has completed. The flash window is typically larger than other IPL systems we have tested, but this is one of the reasons why it is so quick to use.
The device is nicely boxed with the charger and facial attachment and a good instruction booklet; we would recommend thoroughly reading the booklet to ensure maximum benefit is derived from use of the device.
Intense Pulsed Light technology works by applying pulses of light to hair follicles and leads to hair shedding and not re-growing. Whilst IPL takes a longer time to produce effective results, the results do last.
You should read the booklet and possibly check the website to make sure it is suitable for you. Also, as with anything to do with your skin, make sure you do a patch test first.
For effectiveness, we would recommend repeated use over a six month period. We would rate this 8/10.
